What this is
Walk It Off converts the calories in a food or meal into the walking distance it would take an average person to burn them. It exists because "160 calories" means very little to most people, while "two and a half kilometres" means something immediately.
The site is a single calculator. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no data to submit.
Who runs it
Walk It Off is built and maintained by Sameer Khot. It is an independent project, not a clinic, laboratory or nutrition company, and it is not affiliated with any food brand, fitness product or health provider.
The calculator uses the ACSM walking equation rather than a figure picked out of the air, and the method is set out in full on the calculator page. If a number looks wrong, send a source and it will be corrected.
